We can sit tall in the saddle knowing that we take pride in a job well done.

It’s a Montana thing.

When developing in the raw mountain terrain of northwestern Montana, the spine of your project, i.e. the road system, must eventually be portrayed accurately on paper for the approval process. The spine of the development will determine the property lines, sizes, and quantities of the parcels an owner or developer wishes to have and access.

Computers enable engineers to plan and build roads through exhaustive topographic analysis under forest canopies and the staking of cut & fill demarcations with daily supervisions while the work is underway. At the same time, minor value engineering decisions in the field will change a road's center axis paper-design and result in layout re-engineering and a resetting of surrounding properties. Besides time & expense, this may cause County or MTDEQ permit rewriting.

In mountain terrain, a road builder such as Tim Ryan [Riding High Inc.] can rough-in a proper road system footprint for a client's design faster than the paper process and ensure that further time is saved by allowing the developer's same engineers to survey an as-built right-of-way road base; in order to represent actuality for proper quantity permitting as well as the cost-to-complete analysis for the developer.
